(I grew up in North Dakota and moved to central Wisconsin when I was 26, so give me a break.)

I want to hate Aaron Rodgers so much, but I just can't. He's pretty awesome. Felt the same way about Favre even before he wore purple and gold.

I have lived my whole life in Wisconsin (except for two years after grad school in Chicago) and I grew up a HUGE Fran Tarkenton fan. Some players you just can't dislike. Kirby Puckett same way.

If you discount the Bears quarterbacks, Aaron is the best in the league right now.

Well, it's true if you don't discount them, too, but as a Bears fan, I have to make some jab, and that's the best I could do in the circumstances. Talk about your weak-sauce.

At least I'm not terribly conflicted this year. I've lived in Packer land for 35 years, but after about 20 years found that I could finally be OK with the Packers doing well as long as it doesn't adversely affect the Bears. So, in competitive years, I want to to lose everything. Years like this, though, there's no hope for Chicago and my animosity toward the Packers is down to two games...one already past.
