RAIDERS WIN!
Raiders brush aside Jaguars, improve to 5-2
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Jaguars were so awful Sunday that it momentarily took some of the luster off the Raiders 33-16 win. Oaklands offense was pedestrian, settling for four field goals in the snoozefest, but pedestrian beats the heck out of comatose.
Bad smells go away, though, and people will forget how awful Jacksonville was. The Raiders, meanwhile, are memorable and will awaken Monday with a 5-2 record and their first 4-0 road record since 2000, when they went to the AFC Championship Game.
Oakland did not trail Sunday, and put away the game in the final minute of the first half. Michael Crabtree hauled in a 56-yard pass from Derek Carr over his shoulder and three plays later, had a 2-yard touchdown reception on a slant. That made it 20-6.
It felt like 60-6, but the Raiders players were left wanting more after the game. Thats a great sign for a 5-2 team.
Offensively, we want touchdowns, said running back Latavius Murray, who had two in his return after missing two games with a toe injury. We have a lot of work to do. Were going to get better at getting seven instead of three. But three is better than nothing
