Do we dare go there and use the choke word on Aaron Rodger's...

failed playoff performances? Arguably the most talented thrower of the football ever, when it comes to the playoff big games, he doesn't come through.

The Packers scored a touchdown on the first drive of the game but scored just 3 points in the last three quarters of the game Saturday night against the 49ers...at home at Lambeau Field.

3 POINTS. That's it. And last year he came up small too. His coach didn't trust him enough on fourth down to go for a touchdown, so he settled for a field goal which left them still behind in the score late in the game.

Can we go there finally?

AND F Rodgers for being in the MVP discussion. He can't even get his team one F'n win in the Playoffs. At HOME!! With the BYE!!

F Rodgers the CHOKESTER!!

It was a reference to Rodger's inoculated rather than vaccinated status.

2. His playoff record is probably quite similar to Peyton Manning's is my guess

Main difference is it took Rodgers less years to win a Super Bowl. By the time Manning beat the Bears in the SB there had been talk for years that he was a great regular-season QB, but a playoff choker, and people questioned if he could ever win the SB.

He went to the playoffs a LOT of years but only made the SB three times, and won twice. Two appearances were at the very end of his career, too.

But yeah ... Rodgers at this point I think we can safely say he is a bit of a choker when the chips are down.

15. Denver's defense was also superb when Manning was there.

Hell, the defense carried Tim Tebow to the playoffs the year before Peyton got there.

5. I think they are pretty close but Manning with 2 super bowl wins

May have a higher winning percentage. As he had to go 4-0 twice to win the two Super Bowls, he had a lot of playoff appearances, but you need a lot of losses to offset the two times he won out. I think Rodgers needs a few more playoff appearances and another SB win to be considered Manning’s equal.

And I think a lot of us were glad to see the Packers lose.

But to put it all on Rogers it's an accurate because that takes away the performance of San Francisco's defense and their special teams.

would have KILLED the Packers pointwise -- Rodgers often gets in a funk, and despite some great passes and a few good running plays, they don't get the points to show for it...

13. In the first quarter IIRC, SF had gained -7 yards (!)

and all Rodgers had to show for it was 7 points.

I was always a big fan of Rodgers before this season and defended him against a friend who said that he's only won one SB blah blah blah. I always held firm that it wasn't because of his performances, but because the team around him wasn't good enough and held him back from winning more. That may or may not be true, but yesterday he was small in the biggest moments.

Reminded me a lot of Brett Favre's last game with the Packers (2007 NFC Championship against the NY Giants).
