You know, there are a lot of people who say driving 500 miles isn't a sport.

I challenge them to try to do that themselves as quickly as possible. It certainly is exhausting in my experience, and that's not even reaching speeds in the triple digits.

from Charlotte, NC to my father-in-laws place in Cocoa Beach, Florida. It's about 550+ miles and it's not too hard, at all.

Just sit there listening to XM radio. Wife reading her Kindle and 2 dogs sleeping in the back seat.

Worst part is stopping at Fla/Ga border for gas knowing there's 2 1/2 more hours to drive and really wanting a beer.

Nothing very sporting about that, IMO.

Guess you have to look at what goes into an athletic performance. Things like coordination, strength, conditioning, practice, speed, quickness, endurance, reflexes, and probably a few more things.
