2. First reaction - she's very thin...

Then I saw the date. All the deer that visit our place right now are VERY pregnant.

3. I'm hoping to see fawns; haven't yet.

4. I saw one last weekend

Followed mom across the street, looked no taller than one of my beagles.

5. I expected to see tons of cicadas "singing".

I wonder if deer eat them. I know opossums do.

I think I'd prefer deer too.

Deer are lovely (even tho I did find a tick on my leg last week; itch, no damage, and I don't forage!)

They HAVE, however, invaded POTUS' and PRESS planes, causing delays!

9. I enjoy the same in my backyard. I think my favorite doe is back in the timber, awaiting birth of

her fawn. She uses that corner as a playpen for the little ones (she had twins, last year) and apparently feels it is safe enough to use again. Generally, she has her "tour" every day, but I've seen her in that corner of the timber more and more often of late.

Our fawns are just being born, which is later than usual.
