Happy Imbolc!

Imbolc is a traditional Gaelic festival that begins at sundown on February 1st and ends at sundown on February 2. It marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.

Imbolc (pronounced IM-bolg or IM-bolk) is Old Irish for “in the belly.” It’s also known as Lady Day, and, in Christianity, Candlemas or St. Brigid’s Day. Traditionally, Imbolc represents the beginning of spring and the time when the first lambs are born. It’s the time of the year associated with pregnancy, and is the time to honor the fertility goddess Brigid.

... these mid-points had in terms of our place in Earth's cycles. Great timing - thank-you!

What of the other three mid points?

there was an old saying something about, at Candlemas you should still have half your hay and half your firewood to make it through to Spring.

If Candlemas Day be cloud and rain, winter is gone and will not come again.

It's an old folk saying.

My daughter was born on another cross quarter day, Beltane (May 1).
And I don’t have half of my hay left 😳😟. I guess I need to go buy more!
