As a Christian, what , or who, is your final authority on what you believe, your doctrines, etc?
Is it your culture, your pastor, your priest, your parents, the Bible, or something else?
And why?

(7,608 posts)"love your neighbor....", etc.... This book is a guide for my faith, actions, beliefs, not a literal law. My spiritual beliefs are my own, between me and the Creator, and do not require anyone mortal (pastor, preacher, elder, teacher, church family) to facilitate; there are very few teachers I have known in my life who have been helpful teachers of Christian faith, maybe less than 6. I do not teach, I only try to be the best person I can be. Private meditation only.
