Another bomb cyclone to hit Sydney

There was one of these less than a year ago and in decades of weather watching, I'd never seen this. It will hit between 33 & 34 deg South in the middle of winter.

In short:

A warning for wild weather is in place for parts of NSW, with a low-pressure system expected to build up on the state's north starting Tuesday.

On Wednesday it will "intensify" and impact regions from the Mid North Coast to Sydney and the state's south.

The SES has issued a "prepare now" warning for damaging winds in Taree, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Port Macquarie and Tenterfield.

I'm right down south, opposite Tasmania, but I'm noticing unusual easterlies bringing rain.

Few mountain ranges in the middle of Oz, so ultimately we feel the effects of all cyclones - even those in Western Australia and Northern Territory. There's no escape!

The weather looks like it's everywhere on the continent, but the cyclone is about to make landfall. Stay safe, check in, on DU when it's clear.

I'm about 1000kms from Sydney in my own little windswept spot on Bass Strait. We will see some abnormal winds and probably a lot of rain but the farmers need that. Thank you for your good wished.
