(101,530 posts)To my location, we'll be among the last to see it. Wonder how much we'll actually get here.
Used to snow like this at least once a winter when I was a kid. Once it got cold, it stayed winter until April or May.

(14,206 posts)Once in I think about 1965 in Wisconsin, and once again during the blizzard of 1993 in Tennessee. Pretty amazing both times. We didn't get anything but a dusting yesterday, enough to make the friend I carpool with call off the drive to church (which is an hour north of us and probably did get some), but the HQ of my husband's compahy in Frederick, MD, is reporting 4-5 inches and everyone was told to stay home if they didn't live right next door. Oh well, next week at this time we'll be in the USVI and I might not come back!

(101,530 posts)Are really suffering serious drought this winter. My friends in Idaho and Montana are telling me there's nothing there until you get above 9000ft... that's bad for this time of year. Going to be a lot of fires come summer.

This was a typical snowstorm where I used to live in Montana... 20 years ago. Taken from 2nd floor window, my neighbor blowing snow in his driveway.
