Bereavement
Related: About this forum"Have you seen my keys?"
I see this ad and dissolve. When her husband finds the keys in the fridge and knows it's her alzheimers .. He says "It's alright Baby".
Now that my darling is gone, who will watch over me when the infirmity of age comes?
I feel sad today.

(7,505 posts)To those who face this horrible situation, my thoughts are with you. I am a widow, healthy husband died of a stroke. My hope is that I don't succumb to something like Alzheimer's. What a burden for the patient and the family.
annabanana, I hope you are not facing the need to cope with this horrible disease. It is not clear in your post.My thoughts are with you.
Sad here too.

(52,791 posts)but I'm young yet and no one knows the future. My post was just me missing my dear husband. It's just over two years since he passed at the young age of 62. I know he would have said "It's ok baby" to me,, no matter what I was dealing with.
There is no one in my life right now who could say that.

(17,257 posts)being left on my own. I always tell my husband "I'm going first" and I realize that's selfish but it's out of fear. I have no one if I don't have him.
I'm so terribly sorry for your sadness today annabanana. I realize it's evening now and I sincerely hope your day and emotional well being got better.
Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to engage this wonderful group. You'll always be loved here.

(17,257 posts)People are so positive and they say there are good things happening in the treatment of this horrid disease.
I raised $605.00 on my Walk to End Alzheimer's page and did all my fundraising on Facebook!
I was totally amazed at the support and so thankful for all the donations.
I started my 'goal' at $100.00 thinking it would be a miracle if I could raise that much and within a day I upped my goal to $150.00, it wasn't long before I upped it again.
I'm looking forward to next year's walk. Maybe I'll shoot for $1000.00 (one thousand dollars) I think I can do it.
This was a big thing for me. I've been medically disabled now for 3 years and I barely get out of the house .. the walk was 2 miles long. I did it. I walked alone with the memories of those I've lost. But I did it. It took me 4 days to recover LOL but dagnabbit I did it
I hope you're all a little less sad today.
