Does anyone else call your friend's phone?

Scott and I dated on and off for 5 years. He passed away when we were apart. I am pretty much a mess. Every now and then I call or text his phone number just to hear his voice and to say I'm sorry. Does anyone else do this?

They're almost 10 years old now and only less than 30 seconds each. She still listens to them every now and again as a source of comfort.

There is no defined timeline for this stuff. Sorry for your loss. Be well.

I have an Easter message from my sister, at the time I found it somewhat annoying, but I’ve kept it. I listen to it now and hear the hesitation- I’m sorry for that. I listen to it now and then. I miss her.

To my friends, knowing they are not going to answer … knowing it will “bounce”

Doesn’t matter … just need to tell them stuff

I saved a voicemail from a dear friend who died earlier this year. I listen to it when I'm missing her. I saved it to several different devices.

And I took a picture of the caller ID on the last phone call I got from another friend who passed away a few years ago that I look at it from time to time.

So I can totally understand your calling your friend's phone. Things like this are like link to our loved ones.

I still have three voice messages on my phone. One from election night 2008.

I love hearing his voice.

two great friends passed years ago. I will never get rid of their numbers or their texts on my phone. It somehow helps. And fortunately for me, many pictures involved.

My husband has cancer. I can't bear to erase any of his sweet voicemails. My dad died 3 years ago. I can't erase the voicemails from him.

I did have to go through & erase my least fave ones from my husband so I could have some room in the box. It took me hours to decide which ones to let go.

I see nothing odd in you calling or texting your deceased friend. Heartfelt condolences for your loss. 😢
