Mozilla Firefox browser "sticks" only on DU

I've had some on-again-off-again problems the past couple days only while viewing DU where my Firefox browser 'sticks' for a few seconds and then works OK.
It appears to happen when I click on an item to open it up to read.
I did have an update to Firefox a couple days ago,
but again it only happens here on DU.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

You might want to disable your Adblocks, at least temporarily, Denzil_DC Feb 2016 #7
Sorry to be of no help, but I use FF for everything, and it works fine on DU for me. C Moon Feb 2016 #8

The following is working great on my Win7 box:
FF 44.0.2
NoScript
Ghostery
Ad Block Plus

As a star member I am not seeing ads any way, but ads might be slowing you down.

a bit jerky at times myself - not that noticeable on DU for me except on very long threads, more on other sites.

I do use Ghostery, though - hangs while waiting for adservers to load drove me to it, not just here, but all across the Web.

The next update of Firefox may improve things anyway.

See here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/ghostery/

It's real easy to install (you can do it at that link). Its main selling point (though it's free) is that it stops sites tracking you, but it also cuts out a lot of clutter that slows loading times, including almost all ads. You can allow such things to run on any page if you want (for instance, by default it disables some commenting systems, but not on DU!), or add a site to its whitelist.

It's a lot easier to use than Adblock, which I gave up on a while back when it made some sites misbehave.

If it doesn't help and you don't want it in the end, it's easy to disable/uninstall.

if you install Ghostery - I don't think you'll really need them if you run it anyway, and as I said, I ditched Adblock a while back because it was causing problems on my own system.

I'm on a Mac desktop mostly (El Capitan), so I can't vouch for Windows, etc.
