Resurrecting archived threads?

On a recent discussion, I posted a link for a Lounge thread from July 2016.

Now there are two additions to that thread but, of course, one cannot view it if one just looks at current posts on the Lounge.

Yet, this thread is listed among the "Latest Threads."

1. I believe that Skinner said that threads are archived if they sink past page 30

That's as far as it goes. Sometimes people find and reply to DU threads through Google Search - for a particular topic - but threads that are archived aren't kicked back to the top.

2. I know. Which is why I am surprised to see it posted on the "Latest Threads"

Currently, on the Lounge, threads older than Sept 2018 are in the archives. And here we are talking July 2016!

3. Well, you'll remember from DU.2 "the thread that will never die."

If a thread is kicked often and long enough it'll never sink past page 30.

I have not seen that one for a few years now.

4. I think it is because it hit a milestone (25 posts).

Milestone posts get bumped up to the top of the "Latest Threads" list.
