not necessarily quoting them exactly. I think I have started them and linked to their post but I am pulling out the main idea first. You know like:

Hey, Jim was saying something about alligators in his post [link] and it made me think of this...blah blah blah.

I don't think anyone cares.

Now if ya gonna go THAT STUPID JIM SAID [link]...then Jim might care.
