Twitter videos

It used to be that I could play them all right in the DU thread.

Now I sometimes see a message like "medium could not be displayed" in a video sized blue box. If I click on the text of the tweet, it will take me to Twitter where I can watch the video.

Sometimes the video plays in the DU thread.

There doesn't seem to be any way to tell in advance what will happen. This started a couple few weeks ago.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

1. I'm guessing you use a Kindle. My Kindles (I use several different ones) won't play

embedded videos either. Sometimes I get the media won't play message sometimes I get audio but no visual, just a black screen.

This has been going on for 2-3 weeks now. I'm guessing Amazon screwed up with one of their automatic software updates, but since it's not easy to contact Amazon, we have to wait for someone there to notice.

Meanwhile, if I really want to see a video I use a old Nook tablet that I now keep charged for just that purpose.

2. Sorry, I should have mentioned it

It's a desktop PC. Windows OS.

This really isn't a biiig problem, just curious. I keep a Twitter account just so I can see interesting tweets. I tweet so little that I fit the definition of a fake account (right down to the fake name).

3. Hmmm. I'm surprised this goes beyond Kindle. For me any embedded video could be

a problem, not just tweets, though mostly tweets.

4. Same thing happens to me sometimes when I'm using my laptop.

5. I use my phone or tablet, almost always. Twitter videos

often either won't play for me or play at an unusually low speed, I now automatically just directly watch on Twitter.

6. Also having problems w/Twitter videos for several weeks.

Some play; some don't in DU: some won't even play at all if I log into Twitter...
