Related: About this forumContacting Admins Re Assistance
I had a question for one of the admins and couldn't get in touch with them via any of the email addresses listed on the Contact page.
Does someone know how I can reach them?
Alternately, is someone else senior enough to assist me?
Thanks!

(18,574 posts)I expect EarlG will be around today midday. The MIRT change is scheduled for today which means he may be busy.
The ATA is generally the best way to get in touch. It seems probable that they are just busy.

(55 posts)Hi Judy,
It's about an old post.
It's from 2016 and is a retired forum. To be honest I don't even know how I found it. And I don't know why it bothers me - guess because there is so much incorrect information out there, has to be cleaned up, one at a time.
The post claims something, but the source for the claim doesn't exist. There doesn't appear to be any other source.
I'd contact the editor about this but he's been blocked.
I come from a Wikipedia background where something can only be there if it has a source to back it up. No source, it can't be there.
If there are options, I'll give you more details
Thanks
K

(18,574 posts)Juries and the admins can hide offensive posts but there is no standard for judging or mechanism for removing unsubstantiated claims. If you want, you can claim, as George Carlin has, that when you die, your soul goes to garage in Buffalo. Within the limits defined by the terms of service you can say or ask what you want.

IMHO, DU is not a reference but a discussion board. The various groups are for those sharing an interest in discussing a certain topic. The forums are mostly generic but exclude some topics.
If you want folks to believe what you say, posting a source, a link to a source or other evidence is standard but it's not a rule.

(29,517 posts)If the posts author has been blocked, thats a sign that their posts were inappropriate, for some reason. If they are gone, and its a post from 2016, no one is really looking at it/being influenced by it at this point.
If the author was around, I'd ask them to edit it accordingly.
Given they aren't and as you say, no one is looking at it/being influenced at it, maybe the most efficient course of action is to delete it. Is this an option?
