I just reply with the word STOP and get an immediate response that I have been taken off their list. Try it.

That will work on "legitimate" texts (such as from candidates). If they're scams, I wouldn't reply at all. Just delete.

Disabled their access to my data / info option - just allowed them to see my contacts.

Has an expensive "Upgrade" option (of course). Ignored that.

Will see if it can stop "spoof" texts.

By law that stops it and it works for me. Still, you'll get others from different candidates and causes. It takes a while but it works.
