Related: About this forumTwitter link
Ever since the site was upgraded I have been unable to
have twitter open in the post. All I get is a link. I would like it to go back
to where I don't have to go to twitter to see what is posted. What do I have to do
to repair this?

(1,912 posts)Or have others having the same problem, someone will fix it.
Otherwise I will look at no posts that contain a twitter link. I am
not a part of twitter and do not wish to be so.

(22,539 posts)Sometimes those can prevent tweets from embedding properly.

(22,539 posts)It's to do with your individual device/browser setup and the way it interacts with Twitter's code.
Additional privacy settings, content blockers, or browser plugins/extensions can all cause conflicts which prevent your browser from displaying embedded tweets. Behind-the-scenes browser updates can make this happen without you even doing anything.
The problem then is figuring our what might apply to your particular situation.
Since you haven't made any recent changes to your device or browser, your best bet to start might be to try clearing your browser cache. There are instructions for Mac/Safari here, at the top of the page (there are iPhone instructions too for people having this issue on their phones):

Be aware that clearing browser data may cause you to be logged out from sites that you are already logged into, which means you'll have to log in again.

(63,187 posts)Using Chrome I had that problem.
Now I open DU only in Safari (Apple's browser) and I do not have that problem.
I have an Apple Mac computer,
Changing browsers is what worked for me.
