got a bad email from a member

Last edited Fri Feb 18, 2022, 07:45 PM - Edit history (1)

I sent an alert last night. A man sent me UNWANTED EMAIL.
I feel what he sent me was a RUDE attack against me.

Does this TOS pertain?

Sorry to hear about your experience.

The TOS rule you quoted applies to posts and replies but not to emails which are private.

Perhaps you could send an email to the Administrators of DU, attaching the offending message.

I hope you have a better weekend!

Good advice!

I had this happen to me as well.

The person that sent it is no longer a registered user here. I hope.

5. I would do all of the above. Block their email and, depending on the severity of the email,

I'd let the admins know. Meaning anything sexist, racist, threatening or creepy. You don't want this person to do the same to someone else.

You don't have to say what it is until contacted by an Admin.

They might be able to reprimand or revoke privileges or remove the user.

Thanks for answering my note.
I agree with you. I feel the man sending the rotten email to me is at fault .... NOT ME.

THIS IS WHAT I WROTE BACK the Administrator back :: What i am asking for is for this person to receive some kind of slap on the wrist or whatever
because he harassed me and attacked me via an Unwanted email.
He had the option of sending an alert on my note. BUT NO ..... he sent me a nasty email.

He is an adult and should know he can't attack people. My note was not alerted against I guess but he is calling him self a JUDGE and JURY to attack me.
That is not right. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HIM.

Folks, I think just telling me to block the nasty emailer, ISN'T GONNA CUT IT. I want what others suggested in above notes.
I WANT THE Nasty Email sender to get a reprimand or revoke privileges or remove the user.

Are you 12 years old

Are you going to post some pictures of democratic women that haven’t aged well???

I can’t imagine why people on this board still attack people‘s appearance. You can hate her politics but why make fun of her appearance?

Really classy!

I’ve received nasty messages in the past. Only thing you can do is block them.

You’ll get over it.
