DU Community Help
Related: About this forumI'm not sure I am in the right spot
but I have the following issue, and I am seeking help with it.
All the ads everywhere that I am receiving are now in Spanish, all across the net.
I went into Google and discovered that it had changed my language to Spanish and my country to Puerto Rico. I didn't do that. So, I changed those back to English and the United States.
I watch a lot of You Tube, and everything is still in Spanish. I tried to see if I could change it in You Tube, but You Tube shows English. The videos I am watching are in English, but the commercials are in Spanish.
I have nothing against Spanish speakers, but it does arrest your ears if you are not a native speaker. Does anyone have any ideas on how to dump the Spanish ads? I have already rebooted to no avail.
Thank you for any ideas.

(10,775 posts)I fucking hate all these stupid same commercials, and being in a language I don't understand might make them easier to ignore.

(10,136 posts)The language of the ad is sometimes tied to the video you are watching regardless of the language of the video.

(7,233 posts)You're all very sweet to help me out! I wish I could say I did something profound, but actually I did nothing else. I was thinking over the suggestion to just leave it alone, when late yesterday I started getting some ads in English again. Maybe it was a cycling problem. I dunno. (Alas, I can barely operate my phone.) Oh well!
Again, thank you all!
