DU Community Help
Related: About this forumsharing a mastodon post
So, it's easy to share tweets but since many prominent people are now transitioning to Mastodon (Marc Elias, Robert Reich, etc...) and posting interesting information, it would be nice to be able to share these in order to discuss them.
On mastodon, I can copy link and then put it in there:

I am not sure this works because DU croaks on the @ symbol and think the link is not valid.
I also tried the embed option, but it gives html code for embedding which I am not sure I can put in a DU post.
Of course, I can also screenshot the thing and share it that way but this requires a few extra steps.
Is there a way to do it easily ?

(106,318 posts)officially launches--in beta testing now-- (and Mastodon shows a bit more long-term viability). But, they are on top of it. Right now, though, no.

(7,961 posts)You can look on the #explore tab to see if their posts pop up there. If so, you go to their profile and follow. You can also use the search field top left and search for reich. You will be given a list in the search results and able to click on follow for Robert Reich.

(25,882 posts)I tried the explore tab for Reich but he didn't show up.
No search field on my phone? Maybe on my laptop.
Elias was right there when I logged on today!

(49,020 posts)is to use the DU link button when posting a reply, paste the whole mastodon link in the dialog, click ok, add some text at the end that will show as an underlined link, then click the link button again to close the bracket, done.
