DU Community Help
Related: About this forumIgnore function not working sometimes
A certain poster is in my ignore list but their posts keep showing up. I tried removing poster from my ignore list and added them back in, but that did not help - I can still see their posts. I ignored a random poster as a test, and that worked. Can't figure it out...

(18,147 posts)I am thinking of the scam where a scammer spoofs a website url by using an alternate character for one letter, that the target of the attack may not notice.
(Not that this would necessarily be intentional here. But I have one person on my ignore list from long ago, that has a weird spelling of their username that would lend itself to this situation.)
But anyway, the way you could check is by clicking on each profile and see if they are exactly the same, down to number of posts, etc.
Sorry if you already thought of this, just mentioning in case you hadn't.

Turns out you can hide a category and you can block a poster that posts often in that category but if that poster gets over a certain number of recs, well, there they are every dang morning
I have nothing against cats nor against people who love them -but its not why Im here. There is no hiding them, enough DUers rec it, so there they are every day. Cats!
If this has nothing to do with your concern, I must apologize.
Turns out it wasnt Nietzsche who said hell is other people -it was Sartre, of all people.

(10,719 posts)Cats!
Cats are cute, I love cats, I have a cat. But I don't come to DU to look at cats or read about cats or even OP titles about cats.
Maybe someday DU can get the ignore function to work on the trending page.
🙄
Its mind blowing what gets recd
I see it nearly every day and I have that user on ignore too. Didnt help tho. Still there every blessed day

(18,935 posts)The validation that the individual gets from posting and getting reactions to cats might be really important to them. They might be really isolated in real life. Thats what I tell myself.

(32,395 posts)... if that's where you are seeing the posts. Even if you use the 'Keyword Trash' feature, you'll still see it on those pages.
