What is going on? Within the last ten minutes, tweets are suddenly not loading.

The "link to tweet" is there, looks like it is starting to load, and then just jumps and does nothing.

The content doesn't load for me, they say it's from my browser security settings.

5. Previews of tweets are done by the DU software.

Our admins deserve some part of a 24 hour day off, so I wouldn't sweat it.

Some posters are using screenshots or they are scraping text.

Many internet problems just go away after a glitch is tracked down and fixed.

Unless you're a business losing money by the nanosecond, patience pays off.

As some of us experienced at work, at such times, phones ring and pagers beep.

6. I did a test

If I just click the share icon in Twitter and preview the pasted link, it says "link to tweet".

If I change Twitter to X, I just get a link address.

So either way nothing is embedded.

from other sites, posted in the last several hours, about tweets not embedding. Haven't seen any news stories about it yet, though, or any explanation of it. So I have no idea whether something just broke again on Twitter thanks to Musk firing most of his staff, or whether it's been purposely disabled as the billionaire baby's latest idea of how to make people think the platform he's ruined is essential.
