Is it possible to change the search engine for DU searches

3. Wouldn't that be likely to mean a lot fewer search results, especially of older DU messages?

The Google site search we have now will sometimes find threads more than 10 years old. I don't know if another search engine would have access to those.

5. Thank you but not quite what I was looking for.

I think I was asking for the search button on DU to be configurable for other search engines.
Restricting all my DDG searches to DU would be counterproductive, I think.
