Is it possible to change the search engine for DU searches

Since google is going to the dark side, can we have a setting or selection to use a less data-grabbing search option within the site?

Please change it! I suggest DuckDuckGo. . . . nt Bernardo de La Paz Feb 1 #2
Wouldn't that be likely to mean a lot fewer search results, especially of older DU messages? highplainsdem Feb 1 #3

The Google site search we have now will sometimes find threads more than 10 years old. I don't know if another search engine would have access to those.

Add site:democraticunderground.com to your search query on DuckDuckGo (or other search engines) to restrict the search to this site.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=dickthegrouch+site:democraticunderground.com

Only showing results from democraticunderground.com

Clear filter to show all search results

I think I was asking for the search button on DU to be configurable for other search engines.
Restricting all my DDG searches to DU would be counterproductive, I think.

like the DU search does, but with a different search engine. I misunderstood what you are wanting to do.
