I notice that the DU search function no longer picks up older posts using key words.

This seems to be a change from former times, when the search function could go back and find posts from years ago. Is there a reason for it?

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the advanced search function. I'll try it. NNadir Saturday #3
It works. Thanks again. I've been on DU a long time but never realized it was there. NNadir Saturday #4
It took me a long time to notice it, too. I don't think anyone ever instantly picks up every feature of highplainsdem Saturday #5

board page, that will get extremely old posts, but it's pretty much hit and miss. Can be hit and miss with newer posts, too. But that's Google.

Advanced Search, which is for Star members only, is DU's own search and will pick up old posts by keyword quite well, but it's limited to searching for only one keyword (you can type in more but it'll search only for the first one, in my experience using it anyway). It works best for searching smaller forums. On a huge forum like GD you'll often have to narrow the time range for a search or it will time out.
