Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994

The Federal Assault Weapons Ban, signed into law in 1994 by President Bill Clinton, was "sunseted" in 2004. It could have been renewed and made permanent, but the Republican majority in both chambers and President George Bush let it expire. Imagine where we would be today if it had been made permanent.
