Service gun belonging to Coconino County Sheriff stolen

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -

The handgun belonging to the sheriff of Coconino County has been stolen.

Sheriff Bill Pribil's 9mm Glock pistol was taken on Sunday from his truck, which had been
parked outside his home in Flagstaff.

Investigators say the sheriff thought his pickup was locked, because he pushed the button to
lock it. But there was no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.

The gun, which was his service weapon, had been in the center console. It remains missing.

He reported it stolen. That would cut off his liability. Loudly Apr 2013 #1
He was reckless to leave it where he isn't sure was locked. Ptah Apr 2013 #2

I hate guns. Wish they'd all just go away. He might ought to be held liable. I'd have to think that. If it was stolen, I guess not, unless he had left his vehicle unlocked.

I have lost things in the car before...

Sheriff, did you check between the seat cushions? Maybe it's under the seat? You may have left it on top of the car when you put the groceries in, or maybe you dropped it when you got out of the car and it's laying in a parking lot somewhere.. go look, quick.
