Armed with Reason: The Gun Study Data Base

http://www.armedwithreason.com/gun-study-database/

ArmedWithReason Gun Study Database

This database includes more than 100 academic studies that support our position and have at least an abstract available to the public. It is a work in progress. If you have any suggestions for further additions to the database or questions, feel free to contact us at armedwithreason@gmail.com.

The site includes links to studies on homicides, suicides, assaults, accidents and other gun-related studies. Included is an interesting section titled "Defensive Gun Use and Concealed Carry (Debunking Kleck and Lott)".

from the study: "Without Guns, Do People Kill People?"

"Sometimes, no doubt, a person who is intent upon killing someone seeks out a lethal weapon. Far more often, gun-inflicted deaths ensue from impromptu arguments and fights: in the US, two-thirds of the 7,900 deaths in 1981 involving arguments and brawls were caused by guns [unpublished data, Federal Bureau of Investigation]. These deaths would largely be replaced by non-fatal injuries if a gun were not handy. Thus, a far more appropriate generality would be that "People without guns injure people; guns kill them."

Another Second Amendment absolutist myth exposed -- people with guns DO kill people. Clever NRA/ALEC, Koch Brothers, right-wing word play can not change that fact.

your posts in the RKBA Group, and it appears that you don't agree with the tenets of this safe haven pro-gun control Group. Just wondering why you keep posting here.

I think I have posted just as many here. I don't think I have ever posted anything pro gun. On the other hand I have stated on a number of occasions that there need to be stronger gun laws and/or stronger enforcement of the laws already on the books.

ETA I see a number of posters in this forum post over there as well, do you ask the same question of them?
