SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. - A one-year-old girl was shot and wounded in the mouth by her three-year-old brother in the Venice area late Friday, according to a Sarasota County sheriff's statement.

The girl was shot inside a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. near the Sunshine Learning Center at 351 Orange Road. She was taken to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.

The mother, according to reports from the scene, was outside the vehicle talking with another person when a gunshot was heard.

Nobody should have a gun except the police and military. It's the only solution to end all of this.
