last month on TCM. I hadn’t seen the film since the year it came out and forgot what a powerful film it was. I think it is Sidney Pollack’s best film. It’s on my list of great films as well.

I honestly don't think it gets as much recognition as it deserves. One of Jane Fonda's best performances and Gig Young's Oscar was very much deserved. When I first watched it, I didn't know what to expect so when it came to the ending, I thought it was shocking and disturbing yet ultimately the absolutely perfect end to the story.
