Or, do you even care?
I wasn't a big comic book reader when I was young. I read a Green Lantern here, a Richie Rich there. But, I never really dabbled much otherwise. But, being familiar with many of the DC characters I knew of Supergirl and a bit of her background. When she had a cameo toward the end of last year's Superman, though, I wasn't impressed. 'Great, a drunk party animal. Hilarious.' I thought it really distracted from the Superman movie I was trying to watch at the time by shilling for another movie still a year away.
But, that year has now passed and the movie opens Friday. Rotten Tomatoes still has no numbers posted yet, but the reviews should start coming in the next few days. And, while I'm a bit cynical when it comes to how good a trailer looks and how that predicts the movie's quality itself, I must admit that I am intrigued by the trailer.
If you haven't seen it yet, give it a watch. I don't know, maybe it's just the song they use....

(6,178 posts)The outrageous price of a ticket and everything else once youre inside turned me off to it forever. I have better things to spend my money on besides getting ripped off for a couple hours of entertainment,

(6,717 posts)It's $6 on those days for members, plus discounts on concessions, though I never spring for much more than a soda, which is also about $6. Sometimes I'll smuggle in a box of Raisenets that I can get at Kroger for only $1.50/box.
It's worth it to me, but we all have different spending priorities, and YMMV.

(6,178 posts)and I doubt they have a discount day. Way too much hassle with so many movies available on Prime and Netflix.

I never watched the tv show, so I can't render any opinion. I know it ran for several seasons. Maybe if the movie's decent I'll circle back and give it a go. Looks like there'd be 126 eps to wade through, so it would have to be good to warrant that sort of time commitment.

(6,717 posts)MeTV shows the old Superman tv show every Saturday night right after they show an episode of the original Star Trek. Yeah, I can see how, even 70 years ago, it would have been seen as a bit hokey.

(6,717 posts)Usually the crowds are smaller, but when I went to see Pressure, the theater was mostly full and the crowd skewed older. Probably a lot of adults had been waiting for some time for a "grown-up" movie to come out.
