Related: About this forumIs there something wrong with Jessica Lange?
I saw her in a dreadful movie "Wild Oats" last night. She starred with Shirley MacLaine and not only was her acting horrible, she acted like she was drunk. Her facial expressions were just weird. I was wondering if she has some sort of nervous disorder or if she's just that bad of an actor?

(2,964 posts)Maybe she has to take some kind of medication that has bad side effects. I've probably seen less than 10 of her movies and those were mostly from the late 70's to early 80's and even though some of the movies were good she doesn't stand out to me as being particularly memorable in most of them. For instance, I liked the movie "Normal" but if you told me she was in it, I would be like, really? Or "Big Fish". I remember her from "King Kong" but only because I saw that movie when it came out. She was really good in "Frances".

(1,445 posts)she was having a meal with director James Cameron, in Duluth. Believe he was scouting sites. So that means she was back home in Cloquet.
About 3 years after she and Sam separated, I had a short interaction with Sam Shepherd in the check out line at our local grocery store in this small city . They were on their way north I suspect and stocking up. I only saw the back of her gorgeous hair while she waited in the SUV at the carry out door.
That love did not die easily.

(5,107 posts)She was really great in The Postman Always Rings Twice, though I still prefer Lana Turner from the original.
She was also awesome in Cape Fear, I liked her better than Polly Bergen from the original.
And of course Frances, she was just sublime in that, probably her best work IMO.
I also really liked her in Broken Flowers, with Bill Murray. I just love that movie, Jim Jarmusch is one of my favorites. She didn't have a big role in it, but she was quite enjoyable. She played that kooky cat communicator!
I honestly think she's great in pretty much everything she's done...
