EMU 🏀 under investigation for possible Point Shaving

Apparently a firm that tracks sports betting for improprieties flagged a large bet on Central Michigan to cover the spread in the 1st half of a game with Eastern Michigan University..

College Basketball has a history of point shaving.

Cheating is going to be routine. Too much money involved to stop it. It might even kill major sports. Just look at all the people who lost their shit over thar safety by KC.

Good point

I was thinking about the same thing. Andy Reid gave up a backdoor cover by having his punter run time off the clock before running out of the endzone.

Of course in that case it was a legitimate piece of strategy but it does show how easy it would be to pull some shenanigans. Especially if you have someone who really needs money or is being leveraged in nefarious ways.

You know this, just letting everyone else know.

Earlier in the week I read that you could get -7.5 and later -8.5.

The infamous CCNY point shaving scandal was 74 years ago!
I would have though N-I-L would have greatly reduced the temptation to cooperate with gamblers. I guess not.
