'Ugly' brawl breaks out as fans delay college basketball game
It was every fan for themselves as a brawl broke out at a NCAA men’s basketball game on Tuesday night.
With just a minute left in the game, the Saint Louis Billikens were ahead of the VCU Rams by six points, according to the broadcast that panned between the court and the chaos in the stands.
It’s unclear what or who started the fight, but a number of fans — both men and women — could be seen either in the middle of the melee or trying to hold back others while many filmed the scrap.
At one point, a man with a white moustache appeared to be shoved down by another fan as others looked on — and piled on.
The shocked commentators noted that this doesn’t often happen at college basketball games, detailing that police officers and security tried to regain control of the situation at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.
