Another big NBA trade

'Tis the season.

De'Aaron Fox leaves the Kings for San Antonio in a three team trade which has the Bulls finally saying goodbye to Zach Levine.

Kings get Cody Sissoko, three future 1st round picks and three future second round picks, and reunite Levine with DeMar DeRozen.
Spurs get De'Aaron Fox and Jordan Mclaughlin.
Bulls get Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and Kevin Huerter.

I'm a Bulls fan, and I welcome this deal... because it makes the Bulls a lot worse. Next year's draft looks like a good one, and the Bulls have to forfeit their pick if they make the playoffs. Right now, in the less than stellar East conference, they're on the play-in bubble. Without Levine, there's a pretty good chance they're going to lose a lot. The Bulls have been in NBA hell for years now: not good enough to do anything in the postseason, not bad enough to make serious improvement through the draft. They have an exciting rookie in Matas Buzelis, and a young, decent backcourt with White and Dosunmu. There's hope for the future if they tank in 2025.

The Kings, meanwhile, are stockpiling draft picks; we'll have to wait and see what they're planning.

And San Antonio can put a quality point guard on the floor with Wembanyama, when he's healthy again.
