1. I may be wrong, but I think Mr. Goldberg is saying, simply, his number was in Waltz's phone.

I am not sure that I understand Mr. Goldberg to say that he and Waltz did in fact have a phone conversation at some prior point. Regardless, Waltz obviously felt the need to knowingly maintain Mr. Goldberg's number in his (Waltz's) list of cell phone contacts. In other words, Waltz is a liar by saying Mr. Goldberg's phone number was inexplicably "sucked" into his (Waltz's) phone.
