Sen. Tim Kaine says he made a "big mistake" voting for Kristi Noem's confirmation - Face the Nation

Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that his vote to confirm outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristin Noem was a "big mistake," and "what we want to see is not just the change in the nameplate on the door" from President Trump's new nominee Markwayne Mullin.

that she was unqualified and lacked the necessary temperament and judgement for the role. He made a cynical political calculation and went along, since resistance was futile. Well, when the stakes are the type of harm we have seen being done, even futile resistance is mandatory.

That was not "a mistake," it is beyond that. That was not an errant decision, it is a deeply flawed decision making process. It was not merely a bad outcome, but a bad method. Where is the reckoning with that?

It is/was abundantly clear that Trump and his ilk are NOT good people. They're behaving exactly as those who decried their elevation warned they would. And what is the consequence in America and now across the world? Lives lost. Enough.

Hope Kaine is smart enough not to vote for Markwayne Mullin. Dumber and meaner than Noem, even more eager to please Trumplethinskin.
