3. I found his announcement speech somewhat menacing toward the Iranian opposition.

Something like “you best not fuck this up” was the undercurrent of “this is your last chance for generations.”

The interesting thing is Trump is inadvertently making Iran great, just not as the would-be shah would have it.

4. Good point. Plus we keep hearing that his speech was "unhinged" - does seem like he keeps changing his reasoning

But that is nothing new for the felon-in-chief. At first he only spoke of regime change, now he is threatening the entire country, including the people, he wants to blow the entire country to smithereens. If there is nothing left, as he spoke of earlier, then what is the point? And I sure agree that targeting the people and their infrastructure is clearly a war crime.
