Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump trying to pitch losses as wins.

As the pressure mounts, the conflict drags. His allies begin publicly trashing him or even publicly apologizing for supporting him and the economy hits the brakes. Trump seems to be trying to reframe clear losses as wins. That's nothing new for Trump, but his rhetoric isn't sticking the way it used to This also gives us a chance to answer a request to “explain or demonstrate why Trump isn't a source.”

I normally read a whole quote and then go back to point things out. Today, we're going to break up his couple hundred word essay as we go along to point out his attempted reframing of reality.

He posted to social media, "I'm winning a war by a lot. Things are going very well. Our military has been amazing." Nothing says you're definitely winning the war quite like having to announce that you're winning by a lot. while the other side is blowing off your negotiation efforts."

He went on, "And if you read the fake news like the failing New York Times, the absolutely horrendous and disgusting Wall Street Journal, or the now almost defunct, fortunately, Washington Post, you would actually think we are losing the war." Again, nothing says we're definitely winning like pointing out that every major newspaper in the country is reporting you aren't.

He went on, "The enemy is confused because they get these same media reports and yet they realize their navy has been completely wiped out.” So, if the Navy is gone, what's keeping the strait closed?

There's more. "Their air force has gone onto darker runways. They have no anti-missile or anti-airplane equipment." Anti-airplane equipment. I guess it's safe to say he's still not paying attention in the briefings. Reminder, US intel assessments suggested Iran might be getting new air defenses. I'm sorry. anti-airplane equipment from China through a third country.

Here's my favorite. “Their former leaders are mostly gone. This has been in addition to everything else. Regime change.” Trump is now claiming credit for installing the current government in Iran, the one currently laughing at him and not negotiating with him and closing the strait. Trump's taking credit for that bold move. We'll see how that works out for him.

He then tries to make the blockade of the blockade some kind of military win rather than a reactive measure that occurred when his plan failed. Granted, we have a bigger GDP, but still two billion here, two billion there. Pretty soon, you're talking about real money.

His novella ends with, “The anti-America fake news media is rooting for Iran to win, but it's not going to happen because I'm in charge. Just like these unpatriotic people used every ounce of their limited strength to fight me in the election, they continue to do so with Iran. The result will be the same. It already is.
