Is the Progressive Wave Here? NYC's Biggest Winners Explain (Zeteo)

Here is the video description from Zeteo:

“People are pissed off and anxious, and want to fight fascism and protect our immigrant neighbors – but to do it with some joy and hope. It feels pretty special.”

Zeteo’s political correspondent Prem Thakker traveled around New York City to speak with Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Brad Lander, the Mamdani-backed leftist trio, to discuss their primary wins, the Democratic establishment, aid to Israel, universal programs, AI and more.

Between the Knick’s championship, World Cup, primary elections and the atmosphere Mayor Zohran Mamdani has fostered, the city is buzzing with energy. The Mamdani-allies dive into how they won their primaries, detailing what’s next in progressive politics and how they hope the movement can reach other communities.

Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Brad Lander also discuss the Democratic Party and how they can work together to represent New Yorker’s interests.

There was no progressive wave in other parts of the state. Lets slow our roll and realize that picking candidates in democratic seats in New York is very different than picking up seats in Iowa, Kansas, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas and other places that we need to win non democratic D+20 seats to expand and to hold the majority.

I thought it was interesting to hear from the next members of Congress from NYC directly rather than media narratives that are said about them. That was the main reason why I shared the video.

We have a Democratic governor I helped and worked hard to elect. Of course, she has nothing but R's to work with, so we've been at a standstill on most things legislative. All I can really see at this moment is that ONCE AGAIN the R's and the Archdiocese are trying to at our KS constitutional right to an abortion... AND trying to jury rig more R's into the judiciary, no matter what we say.

But I'm out here and I'm talking... at the grocery stores and gas stations. While I admit I'll vote for any all Democrats on the ballot, I would SO much prefer to see a Progressive in place as Gov and in all the legislature. Who knows? May be would finally get pot legalized over here! Yippee
