They have been abused and used enormously to benefit only a few of those at the top, as well as skewed tax rates, and thus, the rest of us are left holding the pieces of what remains (which is not much).

Don't get me wrong, I do believe in these systems, but they have been abused in the extreme, to the point where stocks/land/other assets are technically never sold, thus incurring no capital gains ever, and income via the usual methods isn't technically income anymore, thus, the wealthy gets wealthier all the while paying very little tax. That support the very same infrastructure that allows them to benefit from all of the spoils that the taxes that the rest of us pay.

Seems wrong, doesn't it?

... bought-and-paid-for Republicans let the wealthy write, or at least influence, the tax laws they abuse. Corrupt judges and SCROTUS justices don't help matters.
