Kamala will make history not only as the first minority woman to become President,
but also as the first former fast food
worker to reach the highest office in the land. That has to be inspiring to many fast food workers living on low wages, and America has multitudes of fast food workers.
*rump can't become a woman before the election, but he can pretend to work for 15 minutes.
Thanks for the thread peppertree
P.S. I just Googled it, there were over 4 million 785 thousand fast workers in the U.S. as of 2023. Of course some of them will be too young to vote, but that's still a good chunk.

(22,850 posts)His handlers correctly assumed that, being a franchise, there were no files from Harris' 1983 employment - and that nor would she have kept any pay stubs or W-2s from the era (who does!).
They thus succeeded in sowing doubt (well - among his Chumpkins anyway) - which is all they're good at, as you know.
But who cares. Three months from now, Trump will either be in jail - or at his pal Macri's ranch in Argentina, bitching about his loss.
And hopefully - choking on french fries.

(22,850 posts)It was around 20 years ago.
There he was, waiting at the checkout line at the former Wild Oats - like any old Joe, you know.
I greeted him quietly, and told him that , by coincidence, we had just been watching 'Live from Baghdad' on HBO. He seemed genuinely interested in my opinion.
Very skinny and petit man, with elegant hands. And just the way you see him in the video clip: mellow, affable and unassuming.
Nice little memory.

(22,850 posts)I'd meet celebrities from time to time when I lived in West L.A. (in the 2000s) - and most of them are fairly shy.
Eugene Levy, in particular, seemed scared of his own shadow - very much unlike his comic on-screen persona.
Sydney Pollack - on the other hand - was so jovial and sociable. Didn't mind stopping to talk for a bit - even in a hurry, and in a hot day. A real mensch, you know?
When he passed on, just a year later, I couldn't believe it. You'd never guess he was even ill.
Sidney's gone - and Drumpfenfartz is still with us, threatening our democracy and national security worse than any foreign enemy ever has.
Such is the world I suppose.
