Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon seems poised to do Trump yet another favor by prohibiting the Department of Justice from releasing to the leadership of the House and Senate Judicial Committees Volume 2 of Special Counsel Jack Smith's report regarding Trump's unlawful retention of classified documents, obstruction of justice, an violations of our nation's espionage laws.

In a piece I authored and posted yesterday, I explained why I was worried about the decision of federal prosecutors not to fight the jurisdictional battle, given that Judge Cannon has no authority to continue to issue orders in a case she dismissed - a case that is currently on appeal to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. - Glenn Kirschner - 01/17/2025.
