Many people are uncomfortable with Gays/Lesbians/Trans,etc.
Nor do they understand it. It's really easy to vilify that community. They also think these people are extreme leftists. Hell! You would be surprised how many Gays are actually Trump.supporters. Not to mention how many are probably closeted & active in this administration.
