At first I thought Trump's golden ballroom was just a monument to his vanity. But since he has invoked national security to thwart legal moves against it, it becomes clear that the real purpose is to provide him a "safe space" to hide when he starts WWIII. He really thinks using "nukes" is a viable military option for any situation he chooses. And he is so ignorant of the effects of those weapons to believe he and his chosen (paying?) survivors can hunker down in his bunker and just wait out a nuclear war in luxurious underground accommodations. Of course this ballroom/bunker project was done on his paranoid impulse. And he has no strategic concerns that it is now a known target. So he is delusional if he thinks he can survive a direct hit if the most powerful nuclear weapon ever built were to be dropped on this golden bunker. For example:

So the logic of this boondoggle is obviously lacking in Trump's delusional survival plans. And what if some terrorist attack is launched against it with a pathogen or nerve gas? How much independent sources of oxygen and water will he and his bunker boys have?
I remember during the heights of The Cold War fever in the 50's, my grandfather began building a bomb shelter in the canyon behind his home. He gave it up after a few pick and shovel jobs on it. I guess he finally realized it was pointless. There is no "duck and cover" drill nor luxury bunker that will save any of us. Like we said in the sixties. "Co-existence or no existence."
