Worst Monday ever. Let's make it the day we Struck Back for Democracy and Justice.

We need strong, decisive leadership, and we need it RIGHT NOW.
I mean leaders who changed the course of history, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, the indomitable John Lewis and others in the 60's
They don't have to be politicians, since politicians have duties of their own, but doesn't exclude them.

It was my hope that former presidents and secretaries of state would provide a united front to counter the GOP hate, lie and propaganda machine 24 by 7 by 365. We have heard crickets from them. (1)

And of the representatives, senators, governors and others speaking out, few have made a 🌊 splash 🌊 even on DU, let alone very hostile media.

It is said of men that they/we are like little boys who are excited by things that are big, go very fast, and explode.
It is said of the GOP that hate and lies trigger more response and lock in attention. They sure do, and people eat it up, even when it's to their own extreme disadvantage. That's what FAFO flags are for. (2)

We can go big, fast, and make loud noises!
Without going the Shitler route.
Let's do so.

I gave our great party the weekend to come up with a Dynamic and Persuasive leader to INSPIRE and UNITE our forces for democracy and the Constitution. AND KICK SOME ASS.

Here are my nominations. Stepping up LATE TODAY would be great, but unless there's a Dunkirk to match the Pearl Harbor, we're up shit creek.

and delivering it well. Interestingly, I watched a podcast conversation between Scott Galloway and Kara Swisher, yesterday. Galloway singled out Murphy and Raskin, as well.

Swisher added AOC to the list. I think AOC is a good voice, and gets herself on social media often, so she reaches a certain audience. But her voice is not as evolved as Raskin and Murphy.

I do not believe there needs to be only one leader right now. It is a group effort.

I also think we are seeing brilliant work being done by Norm Eisen and others in courts. This is an all hands on deck moment.

I would like to see the Dems do it "better," in general. IMHO, some of them do not help the cause. It does not help to have Chuck Schumer or Maxine Waters hogging the microphone. I have been writing to them with my observations.

I suggest their message focus on specifics, rather than platitudes and buzz words. If you have a camera on you, let the American citizenry know what they need to know about what is happening with the federal agencies and the federal employees, and the risks to them and their money with the actions of MuskRat and DOGE and young hackers. Correct the record, when possible - address the propaganda.

4. Murphy is one of my senators. He is sane, he is youngish, he is non threatening and he is white.

For some, he is a perfect person to lead the opposition. For other Dems, he would not be as effective. I like to think that he is one of our leaders that, used wisely, can be enormously helpful. We need all hands on deck, each Dem leader doing her or his share to rebuild our party that will ultimately crush Trump.

13. Very important info. Thanks. Here's my worry. It seems part of the RW plan for ages, but now on steroids, is to do

so many horrible, outrageous things at such a fast pace (flood the zone, Gish Gallup-style talk and action) that the average person simply cannot comprehend or believe it. I'm sure that is a huge part of their plan. Surely part of authoritarian fascist playbook for ever. Goebbels knew.

Without media standing up for democracy (as the NYTs director recently said is not their job!) and bravely, intelligently presenting the crisis as the fucking existential crisis it is, I'm not sure we can make it clear to MAGAts and even other less cultish RWers what is really happening.

The only hope may be that when they are directly affected, they will finally realize it's not the poor who are taking their money. Unfortunately, by then it may be too late. And the rest of us who tried to warn them will suffer terrible losses.
