Suggestion for SOTU address
Remember when Joe Wilson broke decorum by shouting "you lie" as President Obama presented his SOTU? Remember how a camera was unexpectedly trained on Justice Alito's face as he mouthed "not true" as Obama spoke? And remember the disgraceful performance in the Oval Office last Friday where Trump and Vance did NOT humiliate President Zelinsky, but rather the entire United States of America with his bullying and utter lack of anything approaching decorum and/or diplomacy.
I have a suggestion for Democrats who plan to attend tonight's SOTU address. Take a whistle--a police whistle, a referee's whistle, a child's whistle, a security whistle--and whenever a lie spews from Trump's mouth--blow the whistle. This could be done a rotating basis, or en masse . . . and would need to be preceded with a heads' up to the media of the effort and what it represents.
Just imagine, when trump begins with "greetings from the greatest president of all times" and is met with a barrage of whistling! When we're told that Russia is our friend--unending whistles; the greatest economy ever--unending whistles. How long would his patience endure. And since neither Wilson nor Alito suffered consequences for their indecorous behavior, neither should any Democrat participating in the whistle-out. Maybe the guests they bring with them--you know, those fired civil service employees--would also like to whistle along.
