I watch a lot of political coverage on YouTube. And lately I am seeing an increase of support

for a left-wing populist takeover of the Democratic Party. I am seeing calls for progressive populists to mount primary challenges to unseat leaders like Pelosi and Schumer who represent the old guard and corporate Democrats. Some are saying that left-wing populists should take over the Democratic Party just as Trump has taken over the Republicans. These are people who hate Trump but believe that establishment Democrats will continue to lose to MAGA. But on the other hand a good strong progressive populist could defeat MAGA in 2028.

We need young blood in our ranks. The old guard should see the writing on the wall and move into an advisory role.
I’m in my late 70’s and I know I’m not anywhere near as sharp as I was in my earlier years.

Cable is too expensive and don’t get me started on Disney and Paramount plus.

I don't subscribe to YTTV. Too expensive and I prefer new media to cable TV networks.

I see both. I want our house rep Ed Case primaries, have wanted him effectively primaried since he came back to the house after running for our beloved Hawaiian Senator Daniel Kahikina Akaka's seat and losing badly.

People trying to get rid of our rocks like Sheldon Whitehouse, Rep Raskin, et al do not have Dems nor the peoples' best interests at heart in my opinion.

They wave little fans as the Hitler wannabe spews his lies unchallenged and breaks law after law.

I grew up with leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King and Howard Zinn and Daniel Berrigan.

Hey, complacent ones. YOU SNOOZE, WE ALL LOSE

The frickin country.

SILENCE IS COMPLICITY
Now who said that?

They were 100% sure of a left/right wing populist alliance: replace the mean old guard corporate establishment Democrats (you forgot the "status quo" and "elite" insults).

Did that happen? No. Their audience shrank and fundraising dried up. Even if those types try again they'll fail because the whole idea is based on insults and things that don't exist.

They don't understand the U.S., demonize and lie about Democrats, mindlessly follow the same script of insults and slogans, think yelling stern speeches and yelling laundry lists of grievances is better than doing the hard work of getting legislature passed (which requires working with colleagues and not clinging to purity tests), spread ridiculous conspiracy theories about rigging and buying elections when voters don't vote for them. Nutty.

8. Interesting,, I am amazed at how many people look to you tube for news

Almost 3x as many as Twitter. Also many more Americans get news off digital devices than any other source.

I personally only read. I won't change my habits but I'll start to pay attention to you tube and pod casts, tick tock, and more.

Many are dissatisfied with our political parties, and I don't think Trump will scratch that itch.

Last week there was a thing with gender and women's sports in congress, polling shows an 80/20 split nationally, 67/30 amongst Dems, yet every Dem voted contrary to the tendencies of their own constituents. So it's not a left right divide in the traditional sense. On many issues the country is nowhere near as left as the donation class of our party, or the interns and staffers who have the ears of our representatives. Economically, the country is far further left, far enough to make room for a Trump with his promises not to tax tips, overtime, or SS.

The left side of our party is not working class orientated at all, I hear one prominent person claim working class bonafides when she graduated from an elite private college, the daughter of a credentialed professional, and coming from a town with million dollar houses.

A revolution of the entitled somehow rings false. If there are left wing populists they are populists who earn between $200,000 and $500,000 complaining about billionaires. I'm not saying it can't happen, but if it does, it will be disliked by corporate Dems and Trustafarians equally.

Three fifths of voters are working class. Hillary told us to go jump in a lake, Harris tried to replace us with more compliant servants, Republicans offer us a carney barker, there is potential to win elections there somewhere.

"Hillary told us to go jump in a lake, Harris tried to replace us with more compliant servants.."

Whom are the "us" you are talking about?!
"compliant servants"...wth?

They weren't "perfect", but they were good, hard working, caring people in their political jobs.

Is this a "working class" vs "middle class" thing?
Just bc you're middle class doesn't mean you can't have hard times, even though your safety net may be better, and yeah, that can make a difference, I know.

I was middle class in a middle class neighborhood, but lived sone scary
on-going housing issues at times bc of a terrible landlord the kind that usually only poor people had to deal with, but probably worse at times, from the time I was 9 to 17. In fact, he had buildings in "the ghetto" as well.

I was middle class until my early 40's then became poor (not destitute, thank goodness) so it hasn't been so easy these past 30ish years.

I'd loved to have had 200,000$ - 500,000$ / yr salary, or freelance earnings. Why? Yeah, I'd get some fancy things, treat my family & friends; and I'd have had more money to give away to people, and situations in need.

Now maybe, it's later here, and I'm misinterprmeting, misunderstanding what you are saying....

I have to admit I'm uninterested. I'd heard of podsave, never watched any of it except a short piece of Rogan when he had Bernie Sanders on LOL.

I find the cheerleading to be revolting and manipulative. Like the Hopium guy, or Liberal Redneck. Misleading pabulum for true believers willing to suspend disbelief.
“Trump in Panic After Caving Like a Coward,” “Trump Crumbles in Public as His Entire Life Unravels” and “Democratic Leaders Destroy Trump in Red Districts.”

and then we lose another election but they are still paid by the clicks.
