The 22nd makes him ineligible.

The 12th reads quite clearly.

“… But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

So, there’s no electing the asshole to the Vice Presidency and then handing the Presidency back.
