I was in the local grocery market today and ran into a person that I have deep respect for. Hadn't really seen him in over 20 years. He taught my daughter HS Social Studies and he asked how she was doing. They obviously connected, as my daughter has told me that he was her favorite teacher in her HS years. I knew him differently back in the early 90's. We both served together on our town planning board back in the early 90s. A thankless job, really. He was my mentor, as far as his approach to the environmental impact of the permitting process that the board oversaw.
The man has got to be pushing 80 now and he has a physical palsy. But he has a great attitude. Every week he submits a LTE to the local newspaper detailing what this administration is doing and how it will ultimately effect all of us. I thanked him for that effort. He chuckled and said. "it's a no brainer. I'm a teacher, that's my job."
On edit, as suggested. changed the Subject line from "They" to "We" Because that's a far better descriptor.
